PAID ADS

Ads that are judged by sales, not clicks.

We run ads on Google, Facebook and Instagram for online stores.

The problem

Clicks are easy to buy. Sales are not.

An ad account can show thousands of clicks and still lose money. What counts is how much comes back for every euro you spend, and whether that is more than the product costs you.

Before any budget is spent, we work out with you what the ads have to bring back to be worth it.

Facebook and Instagram ads (Meta ads)

+152%

−32%
back for every €1 in the best campaign (ROAS 7.32)
€7.32
The challenge
The store wanted more purchases from its ads, a lower cost for each one, and more value from every order.
What we did
We ran the campaigns for purchases, not clicks or reach, and moved the budget to the ads that sold. On the store we added offers that raise the value of an order: products that go together, bigger packs and rewards for adding one more item.
The result
Purchases rose by 152% and the ad cost of each purchase fell by 32%. The 12 biggest campaigns brought €155,351 in sales from €28,393 of ads.

Ads and tracking for an online store

in store sales in one year
€5.09M
orders
101,987

3.78M
The challenge
The store had no Google Ads at all. Everything had to be set up from zero.
What we did
We built the campaigns and the tracking first. Then we followed which campaigns and search terms brought purchases, and put more budget behind the ones that did.
The result
In one year the store sold for €5.09 million across all channels. Facebook and Instagram brought the most.

Questions

Questions about paid ads.

How much should I spend on ads?+

Enough for the platforms to learn. On Meta that is a budget that can bring about 50 purchases a week from one ad set. If a purchase costs you €10 in ads, that is about €500 a week. We work out the number for your store on the call.

What is ROAS?+

Return on ad spend: the sales your ads brought, divided by what the ads cost. A ROAS of 5 means €5 in sales for every €1 spent.

What is a good ROAS?+

One that is above your break-even. Divide 1 by your margin: at a 40% margin you break even at 2.5, at 25% you need 4.

How long until the ads work?+

The platforms need a few weeks of sales before results settle. We report from the first month, and judge a campaign once it has enough purchases to judge.

Why do Meta and Google Analytics show different sales?+

Each counts in its own way. Meta counts a sale when someone saw or clicked an ad in the days before buying. Analytics gives the sale to the last click. We check both against the real orders in your store.

Do I need a cookie banner to run ads?+

In the EU, yes. Without the consent signals (Consent Mode v2), Google leaves your EU visitors out of its ad audiences.

Who owns the ad accounts?+

You do. They are opened in your name and stay with you if we stop working together.

Sometimes you just need someone who knows what they're doing.
